OPSU Officers 2008/2009
President: Natalie Dobie
Natalie Dobie, from Moscow, KS, received her Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Seward County Community
College. She then came to OPSU to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.
This is her second year at OPSU. Natalie is a member and a recruiter of SOEA and became president for the
2008-2009 school year. Natalie will complete her internship in the spring of 2009 and plans to graduate
in May 2009. Natalie plans to continue her education by attending Kansas State University Graduate School
to receive her masters in Elementary Education-Curriculum and Instruction.
Vice President: Courtney Jenkins
Courtney Jenkins, from Perryton, TX, received her associate’s degree in science from Frank Phillips College.
She then came to Oklahoma Panhandle State University to pursue her bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
This is her third year at OPSU. She has been a member of SOEA for the past two years. She is serving as
vice president for the 2008-2009 school year. Courtney will complete her internship in the spring of 2009 and
will graduate in May 2009. Courtney plans to start teaching as soon as possible and would like to stay in this
area.
Secretary: Kimberly Harkins
Kimberly Harkins, from Chantilly, VA, started her freshman year at Oklahoma Panhandle State University in the
fall of 2007. She is majoring in elementary education. Kimberly joined SOEA within the first month of
the 2007 semester and is serving as secretary for the 2008-2009 school year. She plans to graduate in 2011
and stay in the area and start teaching.
Treasurer: Shanna Hoeffner
Shanna Hoeffner, from Guymon, OK, is a junior who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with
minor in sociology. This is Shanna’s fourth year at OPSU and her third year in SOEA. For the 2008-2009
school year, she is serving as treasurer. Shanna will be completing her internship during the spring of 2010
and will graduate in May 2010.
