Located in the McKee Library, the SASS provides one on one and small group tutoring for students in course work. Students may schedule specific appointments for tutoring or come in on a drop-in basis. The SASS is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Student Academic Support Services (SASS) provides academic support, special advising, and related services to all students enrolled at Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU). In addition to the services provided to all students, focused services are directed to first-generation students, low-income students, students with disabilities, and students with academic and curricular deficiencies. Academic services coordinated by the Office of Student Academic Support Services include academic coaching, course placement, workshops, credit-bearing courses, tutoring, and individual academic sessions.

Our mission is to maximize the academic success and persistence to graduation of all students at OPSU. SASS contributes to this mission by helping students maximize their learning opportunities and assisting them in their personal growth. By focusing on the needs of individual students and offering academic support, special advising, and other services, the office strives to increase the retention and graduation rate of all students.

In support of OPSU’s commitment to academic excellence, SASS supports the development of knowledge, intellectual skills and practice, personal and social values, and transformation in all students. SASS promotes high academic achievement and guides students to take full advantage of the wide variety of opportunities. SASS serves all OPSU students interested in strengthening their academic performance or skills by organizing peer tutoring, study groups, and drop-in tutoring and by offering professional one-on-one and small group academic support. SASS collaborates with other campus offices and faculty to support OPSU students. Our programs and services provide a variety of opportunities that help students engage more fully in their education and achieve their potential for academic success.
