Jason Kueffler came to OPSU from Northern State University
in Aberdeen, S.D. in the fall of 2004. At NSU, he spent one
season as the pitching and assistant strength and conditioning
coach and then one season as the assistant coach. While at
NSU, he coached Deacon Burns, who the Minnesota Twins selected
in the 26th round of the 2004 MLB draft.
In his first season at OPSU, Kueffler led
the Aggies to 11 wins, more than OPSU had in the three previous
years combined. The 2005 Aggies were also in the top five
in the nation in stolen bases and stolen base percentage.
He needs only five wins in the 2006 season to become the
all-time winningest coach baseball coach in OPSU history.
Kueffler has a Bachelor's degree in Fitness
Management and Management Information Systems and a Master's
of Science in Education in Health, Physical Education and
Coaching from NSU. In addition to his coaching responsibilities,
he is an adjunct professor of Health and Physical Education.
