Library Establishes Commemorative Memorials
Marvin E. McKee Library announces the establishment of a commemorative memorial program for the purpose of honoring OPSU graduates, faculty, staff, and university friends.
1. University advocates who wish to recognize family, friends, professors, mentors, or other important OPSU champions are encouraged to remember the Marvin E. McKee Library in their planning.
2. Donations for the purchase of library materials can be routed through the Panhandle State University Foundation. Donations need to be designated for Library materials and are tax deductible.
3. Your university library will use these donations to provide needed resources for curriculum support. Librarians will consider any special requests donors submit. For instance, if you wish to honor a current professor in the agriculture department we will endeavor to locate an appropriate agriculture title for the donated amount. Please designate special requests on your check or attach a letter.
4. We are also building a collection of panhandle region materials that will keep the unique history of the area and OPSU available for future generations. The Marvin E. McKee Library Archives and Special Materials Collection opened in 2005, and is dedicated to the preservation and availability of these materials.
5. Commemorative bookplates will be placed on the inside front cover of the materials purchased with these donated funds. Donors can request “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of” with the honoree’s name to be added following the inscription.
Please consider this new giving opportunity as you maintain your support of and dedication to the OPSU community. The Marvin E. McKee Library staff appreciates your participation in strengthening this important OPSU learning resource.
Further information can be obtained by calling or emailing Library Director C. Evlyn Schmidt at (580) 349-1542 or ceschmidt@opsu.edu. As always, McKee Library will continue to consider material donations from interested library supporters. Please contact Mrs. Schmidt to discuss possible print donations.
McKee Library staff wishes to take the opportunity to express our gratitude to Doris Looper, Executive Secretary, Panhandle State Foundation, for her cooperation in this project.
