Equestrian Team Ends the Semester with Honors!

At the final Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) show of the season, team members earned enough points to be named high point team in both shows.

In the Nov. 11 morning competition, Leah Butts and Lauren Harvey started the show by placing first in intermediate rail and Jena Braun also placed first in beginner rail. Madison Hughes placed second in open rail and second in reining while Katy Doke placed third in reining and novice rider Misty Lethcho placed fifth in rail class.

Sarah Schultz earned fifth place in advanced rail and open rider Doke placed sixth in the rail class. Kim Lee, a novice rider, placed sixth and Katie Clark earned sixth in the beginner rider class.

In the second show, Hughes started the show by placing first in open rail and third in open reining and was also named reserve high point rider of the show. Intermediate rider Braun also placed first in her division.

Three riders took third in their divisions including Clark in beginner, Butts in novice, and Harvey in intermediate. Schultz placed fourth in the advanced division while Doke also placed fourth in open reining. Completing the show, novice riders Lethcho and Lee placed sixth.

In addition, Leah Butts and Jena Braun qualified for the regional competition. Congratulations to the whole team on an amazing performance!
