Don't Forget Your Pink on Saturday!

By Laura Nelson on 02/07/2013 Goodwell, Okla.—Wear pink to the basketball games inside Oscar Williams Field House on the campus Oklahoma Panhandle State University this Saturday, Feb. 9 and enjoy great college basketball, the homecoming coronation, and a silent auction!

Basketball action gets underway at 2 p.m. as the women take on the University of Texas of the Permian Basin with the men's tip-off following at about 4 p.m. The games have been designated as Play 4Kay, a breast cancer awareness initiative sponsored by the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and The V Foundation. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and consider donating to the fundraiser that will be held during the games. Kay Yow, a former North Carolina State University head women's coach, fought a 22-year battle with cancer before succumbing to the disease in 2009.

The popular annual Staff Silent Auction will be set up so bidders can browse this year's large number of items including OPSU gear, artwork, and gift certificates. All proceeds benefit the OPSU staff scholarship, a fund set aside to assist OPSU employees or their children who are pursuing a degree.

Homecoming royalty will be crowned during halftime of the men's game. Join us for great family fun and cheer on the Aggies!
