Golf Teams Take on Buffalo Dunes

By Laura Nelson on 03/19/2013 Garden City, Kan.—The men's and women's golf teams hosted a tournament at Buffalo Dunes golf course in Garden City Mar. 11-12.

Three teams competed on the women's side, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Kansas Wesleyan, and OPSU. NWOSU won the team title and their Stephanie Martin won the individual title, scoring an 84 in round one and 77 in round two for 161 total. Chelsea Montano was the top Aggie finisher with a total of 199. Kolbi Graves, Kayla Schwartz, Natayla Weber and Samantha McCay rounded out the OPSU team.

Bethany College won the men's team title with their Ben Johnson earning the individual title with a combined 148, four over par. Other schools represented in the 8-team, 41-player field were Garden City Community College with two teams, Pittsburg State, Dodge City Community College, Kansas Wesleyan University, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and OPSU. Tyler Harper carded a 165 for the Aggies to tie for 21st and Brandon Trippe and Cole Eidemiller also competed.

The next tournament for both teams is the CSM/Regis Invitational scheduled Mar. 30-Apr. 2 at Fox Hollow in Denver.
