**For Immediate Release** Cougars Best Aggie Baseball By Laura Nelson on 03/20/2013 Lakewood, Colo.—The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggie baseball team played two 7-inning games against Colorado Christian University in Lakewood on Tuesday and the Cougars won both games.

The Cougars held the Aggies scoreless in the top half of the first inning in the first game, and then went on to score a single run for the early lead. With two outs in the second, OPSU's Casey Kettler took a base on balls, stole second, and then scored a run when Payton Osbon hit a single. Bo Ybarra followed that with a single and then shortstop Robert Montoya homered to left field to give the Aggies a 4-1 lead. It did not last long, though, as Colorado Christian plated six runs in the third, two more in the fifth and three in the sixth to take the 12-5 win. OPSU scored their last run in the sixth as third base runner Ruben Aguirre scored on a wild pitch. Starting pitcher Adam Burke was given the loss, scattering nine hits and giving up nine runs. Closer Nick Chavez struck out three and gave up three hits and three runs. Osbon and Ybarra were both a perfect 3-3 at the plate and Ybarra had three RBIs while Osbon had one.

Game two remained scoreless until inning four when Jacob Milburn hit a sacrifice fly to get Alfonso Gonzalez home. The Cougars came right back and scored four runs in their at-bat in the inning and held the Aggies scoreless the rest of the game as they went on to win 5-1. Losing pitcher Scott Cutright scattered seven hits, struck out two, and gave up four runs in four innings of work. Relief pitcher Mitch Provolt gave up one hit, one run, and struck out two.

The team plays a 3-game series against McMurry University at home Mar. 22-23. The Friday doubleheader begins at 1 p.m. and the single game on Saturday is also scheduled for 1 p.m. Between the two games on Friday, the Aggies will remember Kasey Higgins, their team member who lost his life following a car accident last fall.
