Aggie Women Take Conference Loss in Lubbock By Justine Gaskamp on 11/22/2013 Lubbock, Texas—OPSU's women were held to a season-low 21.1% (12-57) from the field in their Heartland Conference opener against Lubbock Christian University on Thursday evening.
The Aggies fell behind early in the first half and were unable to play catch up, which brought them into half time down by 28 points with a score of 49-21. Sarah Johnson started the second half off with a successful three, but turnovers, fouls, and missed opportunities at the net put the Aggies down by 42 points (66-27) with only five minutes taken off the clock. The Lady Chaps would add 28 more points to the board and the Aggies would manage an additional 17; the final from Lubbock was 94-44 in favor of the home team. Lubbock Christian is currently ranked second in the Heartland as a first-year provisional member of the conference.
Senior Morgan Rickwartz scored a season-high three for three from behind the arc and was also perfect from the field sinking four of four; Rickwartz led the Aggies in scoring totaling 11 points. Leading in rebounds was another senior, Kortney Williams with seven. The Aggies record falls to 0-5 for the season.
