**For Immediate Release** Tough Competition in Texas for OPSU Women's Golf By Justine Gaskamp on 03/12/2014 Pottsboro, Texas—Texas A&M University-Commerce hosted the Texoma Chevy Dealers Lion Invitational tournament March 10-11 in Pottsboro, Texas and the OPSU women's golf team was among 14 teams competing.

The 5986-yard Tanglewood Resort Golf Course held a par of 72 for both rounds of the tournament. Cameron University's Katlyn Johnston finished with the lowest score shooting a 75 in the first round and an 80 in the second round; Johnston led her team to the first place finish with team scores of 325 and 318.

Abigail Ferguson led the Aggie team bringing in the lowest scores for each round. Ferguson marked a 94 on the first 18 holes, and improved on day two shooting an 87. Ferguson tied for 50th individually in a field of 66 golfers.

As a team OPSU finished 13th with Taylor Coffman, Ashley Ogle, and Checutah Beck also competing on the Aggie team.

Women's golf continues their busy spring schedule with Midwestern State Invitational held in Wichita Falls, Texas March 17-18. The tournament is hosted by Midwestern State University and is set to take place at the Champions Course at Weeks Park.
