Released by OPSU Campus Communications on 02/18/2015

Goodwell, Okla. — OPSU accounting graduate Shevin Schramm graduated from OPSU with honors in December of 2012. Schramm earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from OPSU and is currently employed by Goldman Sachs as a tax analyst in the Investment Tax Group in the Irving, Texas office.

Schramm’s main job is to adjust U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) financials to derive taxable income on the firm’s investments. He also calculates various federal and state tax payments and must meet several external and internal deadlines throughout the year.

The Texhoma, Okla. native said, “We pride ourselves on efficiency and continue to improve every opportunity we can.”

He added, “OPSU has played a vital role in my current achievements. Without the support of the 3 ladies (Teachers- Sharon Brantner, Mindy Davis, and Linda Tapp) in the Accounting Department, I would have never become the person I am.”

Schramm commented on the “highest standard” his accounting teachers held him to saying, “they wouldn’t let me settle for anything less.” He added, “Carter Hall (OPSU Business and Technology School) is stacked with educators that are passionate about what they do and care for their students. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the education I received.”
