Donkey Basketball Coming to Anchor D Arena

Goodwell, Okla. — Dairyland Donkey Basketball is coming to Anchor D Arena on March 5 and you won’t want to miss a second of the fun! Doors open at 6 p.m. and the Guymon High School Dance Team will get the show started with a performance at 6:30 p.m. followed by the basketball games at 7 p.m. in Oscar Williams Field House on the Oklahoma Panhandle State University campus.

In what claims to be the “craziest show on earth,” four different teams will seek to bring the Donkey Basketball Championship home! In the first game, the Goodwell High School Team will take on the First Responders followed by the Texhoma High School Team against the Panhandle State team. The winner of each game will face off in the championship game. Half time will feature free donkey rides for kids 12 and under. In addition, there will be a Kiss a Donkey contest between four soon to be announced team representatives.

The event is being sponsored by the Goodwell After Prom Party committee and funds raised will go to support After Prom. Tickets are available at Anchor D Bank in Texhoma, Goodwell, and Guymon as well as Texas County Farm Bureau. Tickets are $7 and $10 at the door.

Derik Hamilton (Guymon PD), Officer Randy Jauregui (Guymon PD), Chief Andrew Ramirez (Goodwell Chief of Police), Officer Gustavo Ramirez (Goodwell PD), Alan Williams (Guymon Fire Department), Waylon Kygar (Texas Co. Jail Administrator), and Sargent Dale Hampsten (Guymon PD).
