**For Immediate Release** OPSU Runners Compete in Colorado By Scott Puryear of OPSU Sports on 09/20/2009 Goodwell, Okla. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State men’s and women’s cross country teams were in Colorado over the weekend to compete in a meet hosted by Colorado College.
In the men’s division, well over 50 runners (from five teams) competed in the 8k race. The OPSU team finished in third place and was led by Johana Karir (34th place) who covered the course in 30:32.
Other Aggies in the competition included Jesus Uribe (30:54), Quentin Willams (31:23), Kevin Geofroy (34:15), Martin Baeza (34:15) and Shaquille Redhair (40:46).
In the women’s division, nearly fifty runners representing five schools covered the 6k course. The Lady Aggies finished fifth in the team category and their top finisher was Veronica Lozano (29:25) who finished in the 27th spot.
Other Lady Aggies who completed the course were Rachael Beck (33:01), Amanda Boggs (33:48), Arlene Soto (34:06), and Kayla Joos (37:35).
