**For Immediate Release** 13 Aggie Football Players Honored By Scott Puryear of OPSU Sports on 01/21/2010 Goodwell, Okla. — Thirteen Oklahoma Panhandle State University football players received awards in a ceremony at halftime of the basketball game on January 17. Last fall’s team was the most exciting in recent years and posted a 5-6 record.
The honors were based upon both post-season awards and internal team awards. Those recognized were:
Doug Williams, Wide Receiver — 1st team D2 Football.com All-Independent; 2nd team Football Gazette All-Region; OPSU Most Valuable Offensive Skill Player
Darryl Brister, Running Back — 1st team D2 Football.com All-Independent; 2nd team Football Gazette All-Region
Tim O’Neil, Offensive Line — 1st team D2 Football.com All-Independent; OPSU Most Valuable Offensive Lineman
William Turnbo, Defensive Line — 1st team D2 Football.com All-Independent; OPSU Most Valuable Defensive Lineman
Brian Armendariz, Offensive Line — 2nd team D2 Football.com All-Independent
Jose Huerta, Linebacker — 2nd team D2 Football.com All-Independent
