**For Immediate Release** Top Hand Auction Set for Saturday By Laura Hays on 02/02/2010 Goodwell, Okla. — Members of the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Rodeo Team will put themselves up for auction on Saturday, February 6. All of it is free — admission to the event, the meal, and dancing to the Wooden Nickel after the auction! The fun begins at 7 p.m. in the Pickle Creek Center in Guymon located 822 N.E. 6th. Kim Peterson and Hunny’s will once again provide the barbecue meal. Clay Meyers of Texhoma Livestock will start the auction action by taking bids on rodeo team members. Each pair will provide four hours of labor each to the winning bidder. The young adults can tackle any chore thrown at them!

Rodeo team members have also been collecting donated items for the auction. Again this year, a 5-day elk and deer combination hunt near Craig, Colo. for November of 2010 is being offered as well as a 2-day duck and goose hunt near Bridgeport, Nebraska for the first week in January of 2011. Craig Latham’s father Paul donated one of his signature pieces handcrafted from rough pine — this year’s donation is a table. A wide variety of western items such as artwork, jewelry, and handcrafted metalwork items will also be up for bid.

Help the team kick off the spring rodeo season by attending the Top Hand Auction. Support your OPSU Rodeo Team while enjoying a great meal and dance, and bid on some original auction items!
