**For Immediate Release** OPSU Baseball Drops Two in Laredo By Scott Puryear of OPSU Sports on 02/07/2010 Laredo, Texas — The Oklahoma Panhandle State baseball team was definitely “Deep in the Heart of Texas” for a Saturday double header with Texas A&M International University in Laredo. The Aggies took a nearly 650-mile bus ride to face the Dustdevils and the home team won the first game (9-5) as well as the second (8-2).

In the first game of the day, the Aggies opened with a pair of runs in the first inning, added another in the third, and two more in the sixth, but it was not enough as the Dustdevils won it 9-5.
Aggie designated hitter Josh Avery smacked a homer and a double and drove in four runs. OPSU center fielder Alex Salquist had three hits in four trips to the plate and one of his hits was a double. Also for the Aggies, Todd Surdez and Mike Senter both had two-hit games and leadoff hitter Jeff Steen also had an RBI.

In the second half of the Saturday double header, the Dustdevils won 8-2. For OPSU, outfielder Amir Daou got two of the five Aggie hits (one a double) and drove in the only Aggie earned run. Andy Klaus and Surdez also doubled for the Aggies.The two losses put the Aggies at 1-4 on the season and they will go again today in Laredo with another double header against the Dustdevils.
