56th Annual Beef Bull Performance Test
Bulls weighed after 84 days on feed

Goodwell - The 84 head of beef bulls on performance test at the Oklahoma Panhandle State Central Testing Station have completed 84 days of the 112 day testing period. At this point in the test, the bulls have an average daily gain (ADG) of 4.28 pounds and a weight-per-day-of-age (WDA) of 3.27 pounds. Fifteen percent of the bulls have gained over five pounds per day. They will be weighed off test February 2 and the top 70 head will sell in the 56th Annual Performance Tested Bull Sale, Monday, February 25, 2008.

Larry Weinkauf’s Angus bull 29-1 sired by GAR 1407 New Design 9594 leads the junior-age bulls with an ADG of 5.92 pounds and a WDA of 4.23 pounds. His 30-2 bull sired by Circle S 598 Bando 1037 ranks second with an ADG of 5.17 pounds and a WDA of 4.14 pounds. Phil Light, Turpin, OK has the third and fourth place juniors on Angus bulls with ADG’s of 5.06 pounds each.

In the junior pen division, Larry Weinkauf’s pen of three Angus is first with an ADG of 5.06 pounds. Sires represented in this pen are Circle S 598 Bando 1037, GAR Precision H551 and GAR 1407 New Design 9594. In second place is Phil Light’s pen of three Angus with an ADG of 4.74 pounds. All three are sired by Morgans Direction 111 9901. Another Larry Weinkauf’s pen of three Angus sired by Circle S 598 Bando 1037 is third with an ADG of 4.65 pounds.

B&M Angus, Edmond, OK has the top gaining senior-age bull with an ADG of 5.73 pounds on a bull sired by Hyline Right Time 338. Stedje Livestock, Gruver, TX has the second place senior with an ADG of 5.46 pounds on an Angus son of GAR Retail Product 7512. B&M Angus has the third, fourth and fifth place seniors with ADG’s of 5.44, 5.38 and 5.35 pounds, respectively. Sires represented are Boyd on Target 1083 and Rito 2VI of 2536 1407.

B&M’s Angus pens 17 and 19 lead the way in the senior-age pen division with ADG’s of 5.21 and 4.96 pounds, respectively. Stedje Livestock’s pen of four Angus is third with an ADG of 4.77 pounds. GAR Retail Product 7512 is the sire of these bulls.
