**For Immediate Release**
OPSU Flair in “Annie Warbucks”
-released by OPSU Campus Communications 03/06/06
by Scott Puryear
Goodwell, OK - There was a decided
OPSU flair in the Guymon Community Theatre presentation
of “Annie Warbucks,” and
the success of the production was due in part to the hard
work of six people with close ties to the college. The
musical comedy opened last weekend and has three more performances
set for this coming weekend.
Dr. Wayne Stewart, OPSU Dean of Education,
performed one of the featured roles as the mega-rich
Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks.
Warbucks’ love interest was Grace Farrell, played
by OPSU senior and cheer team captain Mallory Turlington
from Keyes, Okla.
Leading roles are nothing without
a talented supporting cast, and the entire cast of “Annie Warbucks” performed
their comedic roles well. Among the rest of the cast members
were OPSU graduate Anna Mae Stewart as Mrs. Kelly, adjunct
faculty Lucinda Ray as Mrs. Greer, and senior Tyler Puryear
from Guymon, Okla., as Senator Vandenberg.
OPSU student Audrey Brooks from Guymon,
Okla., served as the production’s choreographer.
The final performances of “Annie Warbucks” are
this weekend. Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday
at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $7.50 per seat. Reserve tickets
by calling 338-0019.
