Broadway at Panhandle Performance Set

In its 8th year, campers at Oklahoma Panhandle State University’s Broadway at Panhandle are busy rehearsing, building sets, and making lifelong memories. The week-long camp for students ages 12-18 offers the campers an opportunity to explore all aspects of theatre including everything from set design to preparing for the performance. Sponsored in part by a generous donation from the Oklahoma Arts Council, this year’s production is “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”
The popular musical examines life through the characters immortalized by the late Charles Schultz in his comic strip “Peanuts.” Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder and Patty share their dreams as seen through a child’s stressful yet optimistic view of the world.
The public is invited to attend the performance this Saturday, June 11 at 2:00 p.m. in Hughes-Strong Auditorium. Admission for adults is $5.00, and admission for students, children, and seniors is $3.00.
“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” was written by Clark Gesner. It is used by permission of Tams-Witmark Music library, Inc., New York City, NY. John McCabe-Juhnke directs the Broadway at Panhandle production with the assistance of choreographer Joy Goldsmith and musical director Cari Earnhart.
