Exciting Changes in Continuing Education
-released by OPSU Campus Communications 09-12-05
by Rebecca Bichsel
Oklahoma Panhandle State University’s office of
Continuing Education has made significant changes to their
online course offerings. OPSU now offers more than 5,000
online courses through Gatlin Education Services. This
is in addition to the over 300 online courses offered from
Ed2Go and those offered on the OPSU campus. Online courses
are now being offered in Networking, Workplace Safety,
Construction, Design, and Medical Transcription. For a
full list of all the exciting courses offered, check the
Continuing Education link under “Students” at
www.opsu.edu.
Changes have also been made to the many on-campus continuing
education courses offered by OPSU. The Continuing Education
department worked closely with several companies in the
Guymon area to develop courses that meet the specific needs
of the companies and their employees. Now computer classes
2-6 hours in length are being offered in addition to the
in-depth 16 hour computer courses. Also, Real Estate and
Massage Technology are once again being offered upon request.
The department is also excited about adding a scuba diving
course to their recreational course offerings.
These changes now allow the department of Continuing Education
to meet the personal and professional training needs of
students and local companies. For more information about
continuing education courses, visit www.opsu.edu or contact
Carrie Haisten, Director of Continuing Education at 580-349-1552.
