-released by OPSU Campus Communications 04-12-06

Goodwell, Okla.- Four Oklahoma Panhandle State University students participated in the Oklahoma All-Collegiate Choir performance on Saturday, April 8 in Norman. Meldoy Gum, Mallory Turlington, Sean Moose and Tanner Manning joined students selected from five other Oklahoma universities, including the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Southern Nazarene University, and the University of Tulsa.

The repertoire for the concert covered a wide array of choral styles ranging from Russian choral music to Mozart; from the lively “Alleluia” by Paul Basler to variations on an early chorale tune. In all, eight selections were presented by the choir.

The OPSU choirs will be in concert on the OPSU campus during the OPSU Festival of the Arts. The OPSU Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will perform in a combined concert with the Concert Band on Tuesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in Hughes-Strong Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public. This is just one of several events during the weeklong festival.
