High School Seniors Offered Free Tuition
-released by OPSU Campus Communications 05/16/06
Goodwell, Okla. — Oklahoma
Panhandle State University encourages high school students
who will be seniors this fall to jump start their college
career. Two university credit courses will be offered
in the Guymon Classroom this summer in addition to the
classes offered on campus. Students can enroll in Freshman
English I and Math for Critical Thinking, two courses
that often meet general education requirements. Concurrent
students, or those attending high school and taking college
courses, benefit from the free tuition offered by the
Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE).
These students may get up to six hours of credit with
tuition paid. For more information about concurrent enrollment,
contact Jolie Dennis at 580-349-1370 or Dara Short at
580-349-1374.
The Guymon Classroom also offers
three non-credit courses this summer. Dave O’Sullivan
will instruct Computers for Beginners and Microsoft Office,
and Teri Mora will teach the Spanish for Business class.
Those who successfully finish the courses receive a Certificate
of Completion, but no college credit is available for
these classes. Guymon Chamber of Commerce members receive
free tuition for the Guymon Classroom summer Adult and
Continuing Education (ACE) courses! For more information
about these classes, please call Consuelo Luera at 580-349-1552.
Take advantage of the education offered at your hometown
university, OPSU!
