**For Immediate Release** Teacher Education Program to Hold Annual Open Meeting -released by OPSU Campus Communications 02-23-2006 Goodwell, Okla. - Every teacher education program in the state of Oklahoma is required to hold an annual open meeting to present pertinent information about its program to the public and students, and to receive input from them about concerns, suggestions, etc. about the program. The annual open meeting is scheduled for March 6, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. in Hughes-Strong Auditorium. Current OPSU Teacher Education candidates and those who may be seeking admission to the program are required to attend. Other OPSU students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend. Items to be discussed include: the status of the OPSU Teacher Education Program, possible changes in the HPER program, changes in portfolio requirements for elementary education candidates, and the introduction of an education minor to aid those anticipating seeking alternative certification.
