Goodwell, Okla. — Well before the fall semester began at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, campus housing for single students was filled to capacity, and since students reported for school on August 15, the campus has been bustling with the activity of additional undergraduates.
With the preliminary numbers tallied, OPSU President Dave Bryant reports enrollment has increased 1.3% over last fall with 1,151 students enrolled. Not only are more students taking advantage of OPSU’s high quality, low cost education, students are signed up for substantially more credit hours, a figure confirmed by the 2.7% increase over last fall’s figures.
The report also reflects a 4.6% increase in the number of students and a 1.4% increase in the amount of credit hours used in the development of the fall 2007 budget.
Bryant stated, “We have focused a considerable amount of effort on recruiting and retention, and thanks to the exceptional work by OPSU faculty and staff, our goal to increase the number of students and credit hours is being realized. As we approach our Centennial year in 2009, we look forward to providing even more students in the High Plains area with a superior, affordable education.”
