**For Immediate Release**
Equine Science Center Dedication Set
-released by OPSU Campus Communications 03-03-2006
Goodwell, Okla. - Oklahoma Panhandle State University
invites everyone to attend the dedication of the new Equine
Science Center at the OPSU Farm on Friday, March 10 at
noon. A free barbecue luncheon provided by the Firestone
Meat Lab will be served, and facility tours will be conducted
afterwards.
The 12-stall, 12-run barn was recently
completed and offers a professional horse boarding facility
for use by the OPSU Equine Science Department. In addition,
OPSU will honor Charlie Cline, of Ripley, Okla., who
generously donated 10 registered American Quarterhorses,
including 2 studs for breeding. This gift will allow
the Equine Science Program to build a base of stock to
use. Cline’s horses are
desired for their athleticism, frame and gentle dispositions.
The Equine Science Department plans
to use all of the horses for breeding purposes and OPSU’s Equine Science
classes. They will also be used for ranch versatility and
the OPSU’s women’s equestrian team.
Please join us in celebrating the growing Equine Science
Department!
