Goodwell, OK -- Oklahoma Panhandle State University has
expanded its for-credit course schedule this fall in the
Guymon Classroom located at 5th and Roosevelt. Dr. Wayne
Manning, Vice President for Academic Affairs, announced
the addition of three lower level courses as well as the
addition of a series of English as a Second Language (ESL)
classes.
The lower level classes offer a perfect
opportunity for working adults who wish to begin a college
career as well as for concurrently enrolled high school
students. The classes are scheduled consecutively so that
students may choose to take one, two, or all three. Each
meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from August 16 through December
15. College Algebra is scheduled from 4-5:15 p.m.,
Freshman English from 5:30-6:45 p.m., and Introduction
to Computer Information Systems from 7-8:15 p.m.
Remember, Oklahoma high school seniors
may take up to 6 hours of college credit during the fall
and spring semesters and the tuition will be waived according
to standards set by the Oklahoma State Regents for
Higher Education. Juniors may earn 3 hour credit classes
each semester, and are not eligible for the tuition
waiver.
Teachers, do you have the desire to add
an ESL endorsement to your teaching certificate? Four classes
designed to prepare you for taking the ESL certification
examination will be offered in the Guymon Classroom beginning
August 16. The following schedule is designed so participants
may take one or all four. Students earn three hours
of credit for each course.
