The dance steps were graceful; the
skirts were twirling, and the recent performance by Alma Folklorica in the OPSU ballroom was very well
received. – Michal

Goodwell, OK – A great time was had by all in the Oklahoma
Panhandle State University Ballroom last Thursday at Noche
de Gala – a celebration of Hispanic music, dance and
very good food. Teri Mora, the school’s Director of Hispanic
Services, hosted the event as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
The entertainment portion of the evening
began with dancing by Alma Folklorica, made up of area young
people under Mora’s
direction. Then, OPSU MARIACHI, under the direction of Jason
Berg, took center stage and performed several traditional Hispanic
songs. The performance was very well received and Berg said
plans are underway for more appearances.
After the Mariachi performance, Alma Folklorica again went
to work with another spirited dance routine and the delighted
crowd (of nearly eighty) gave them a standing ovation at the
conclusion of their routine.
Several very good people had a very good time at OPSU . .
. at Noche de Gala.

It
was a wonderful night of music and dancing at the recent Noche
de Gala at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. OPSU
MARIACHI mixed brass, guitars, and strong vocals
to produce the exceptional music.
