OPSU Guymon Classroom Opens This Summer

Goodwell, Okla. -- Busy adults are
enrolling in courses offered at Oklahoma Panhandle State
University’s
new Guymon Classroom! Located on the corner of Fifth and
Roosevelt, the first courses begin this summer, and the
convenient evening classes provide busy adults with an
opportunity to learn practical skills or expand knowledge
to use in their professional and personal lives. Meeting
for 75 minutes for two evenings per week, even the most
involved men and women can find time to learn.
Is the twenty-first century leaving
you behind? Do you rely on your children or grandchildren
to help you with computer use? Computers for Beginners
covers all basic operations plus internet usage. Instructor
Dave O’Sullivan
will teach two sessions of the same class. The first meets
5:30-6:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays from June 5 through
June 30. The second session meets 5:30-6:45 p.m. on Tuesdays
and Thursdays July 5-July 28.
Mr. O’Sullivan will also teach
Microsoft Office, a course that offers beginning-to-intermediate
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Learn how to type
basic letters, insert clip art, and much more in Word.
Create spreadsheets, charts, and filtered lists in Excel.
Master the basics of PowerPoint and design effective,
professional presentations. This course is also offered
in two sessions. The first meets 7-8:15 p.m. Mondays
and Wednesdays from June 5 through June 30. The second
session meets 7-8:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from
July 5 through July 28.
Computers for Beginners and Microsoft Office courses are
offered consecutively during both sessions so students
may conveniently enroll in both.
The third course offered this summer, Spanish for Business,
is designed to give participants helpful communication
tools for relating to Spanish-speaking clientele. Instructor
Teri Mora will center the curriculum on oral communication
and comprehension. The first session meets Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 5:30-6:45 p.m. from June 19 through July
14. The second session meets Mondays and Wednesdays from
5:30-6:45 p.m. from July 17 through August 11.
Each student who successfully finishes a course will be
awarded a Certificate of Completion. These courses are
taught only on a non-credit basis; no grades or transcripts
