Goodwell, Okla. — Oklahoma
Panhandle State University offers a variety of course
offerings year round. In addition to summer classes on
campus and an ever-growing list of on-line classes, OPSU
has opened a learning facility at 5th and Roosevelt in
Guymon to accommodate area learners. The classroom is
equipped with state-of-the-art laptop computers and docking
stations.
The first classes, instructed by
Dave O’Sullivan,
began on June 5. O’Sullivan, who was recently named
Guymon’s Teacher of the Year and has been nominated
for Oklahoma Teacher of the Year, is teaching Computers
for Beginners and Microsoft Office. Each class meets one
hour and fifteen minutes twice a week for four weeks. These
two classes will be offered again beginning in July in
addition to the Spanish for Business course listed below.
OPSU’s Director of Adult and Continuing Education,
Consuelo Luera, said, “The Guymon Classroom offers
busy adults the opportunity to expand their knowledge for
professional and personal use without driving to campus.
We have had excellent response so far, and plan to seek
community input to offer classes geared toward needs in
the business community.”
Classes fill up quickly, so plan now to sign up for courses
