Goodwell, Okla. — At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, an electrical panel in Hamilton Hall on the Oklahoma Panhandle State University campus caught fire. The fire was contained within the panel, no one was injured and there was no structural damage to the building. Holter Hall dormitory, across the street from Hamilton, was without power for about 4 hours, but it was restored by 9:00 p.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and Hamilton Hall will remain closed until power can be restored. Classes held in the building will be reassigned to other locations, and faculty and staff who work in the building will be temporarily relocated.
