Holiday Concert and Reception

Goodwell, OK - Join the Oklahoma
Panhandle State University music department on Monday,
Dec. 5, as we ring in the holidays with “Tis’ the Season … for Music.” The
performance begins at 7:00 p.m. in Hughes-Strong Auditorium
on the OPSU campus and is open to the public with a reception
to follow. There is no admission charge.
Vocal ensembles performing include
the OPSU Concert Choir singing Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” featuring
soloist Cari Earnhart, OPSU adjunct voice faculty, and
the OPSU Chamber Singers singing various Christmas carols
and lullabies, both directed by Tracey Gregg-Boothby and
accompanied by René Brain. Instrumental ensembles
performing include the OPSU Concert Band playing selections
from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite” and
the Jazz Band, directed by Jason Berg in his first OPSU
holiday concert. Also, hear the Mariachi Band in their
first holiday concert appearance.
The OPSU music department provides
a practical course of vocal and instrumental study focusing
on education and performance. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear the
culmination of an entire semester’s worth of work
and preparation.
