Participants enhanced their leadership skills, developed the skills necessary to become a change agent and advocate for Oklahoma libraries, learned from the knowledge and vision of other library leaders, participated in a library support and mentoring network, and gained knowledge of opportunities to increase their involvement in OLA.
Assisting institute leader Pat Wagner were five mentors nominated by peers and selected to work with the participants both during and after the institute. Evlyn Schmidt, OPSU Library Director, served as a mentor at the institute.
This unique library leadership program originated and designed for OLA members provides a special opportunity to come together and build stronger librarian leadership. OPSU students, staff, and faculty will benefit as librarians Kravig and Schmidt continue their commitment to making a difference in campus library services.
