Goodwell, Okla. - A premier student event returns to Oklahoma Panhandle State University this Friday night - the Miss OPSU Pageant. The last one was held in 1995, and thanks to the hard work of McKenzie Talcott and the support of OPSU President Dave Bryant, a 2007 Miss OPSU will be crowned on February 2 in Hughes-Strong Auditorium. The event begins at 7 p.m., and the public is invited to attend. Admission prices are adults $5, children $3, and those 5 and under get in free. OPSU students are free with a current, valid student ID.
Talcott serves as Executive Director of the pageant with the help of Britta McDonald, Co-Director. The contest is an official preliminary competition for Miss Oklahoma and Miss America pageants, and five certified Miss America officials will judge. Dr. Sara Richter, Dean of Liberal Arts, and Dr. Wayne Stewart, Dean of Education will host the event.
Contestants will compete for cash and scholarships in four areas of on-stage competition including talent, swimsuit, evening gown, and on-stage questions.
