PTCI; Max and Dorothy Baggerly Honored at Banquet

Goodwell, OK - The Panhandle State Foundation held their
annual appreciation banquet on Tuesday, November 15, 2005
at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom on the campus
of Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Approximately 140
people attended including the honored guests, Foundation
Board of Directors, OPSU professors, university staff and
several scholarship recipients. The Foundation banquet
marks the beginning of the annual fund drive, honors this
year’s scholarship recipients and inducts new members
into the Foundation’s Distinguished Contributor Honor
Roll. The 2005 inductees were Mr. and Mrs. Max Baggerly
and PTCI. The special entertainment provided by OPSU’s
Neon Voices and the OPSU Jazz Band was highly applauded.
Mr. Steve Baggerly presented the Distinguished Contributor
plaque to his parents, Max and Dorothy Baggerly. The Baggerlys
have a long-standing commitment to education, and most
recently, they purchased the naming rights of one of the
OPSU apartment buildings in honor of Bob and Kathryn Sexton.
Their love of education and their support of OPSU are acknowledged
by their induction to the Panhandle State Foundation Distinguished
Contributor Honor Roll.
Mr. Chris Purdy both presented and accepted the Distinguished
Contributor plaque for Panhandle Telephone Cooperative,
Inc. and its members. This local company is owned by the
community it serves and realizes its responsibility to
support its neighbors. PTCI has been consistently involved
in supporting Oklahoma Panhandle State University in numerous
ways. OPSU athletics, campus clubs, the CIS program and
the OPSU Rodeo are all continually assisted by financial
support from PTCI. The association does not stop there;
PTCI employs many OPSU graduates. The Panhandle State Foundation
recognizes PTCI’s time, interest, commitment and
financial support to the Foundation, OPSU, and its students
by inducting it into the Distinguished Contributor Honor
Roll.
