Flamenco Returns to OPSU
-released by OPSU Campus Communications 10-05-2006
Goodwell, OK - Ronald Radford, Flamenco guitar virtuoso, returns to the campus of Oklahoma Panhandle State University on Thursday, October 26, in Hughes-Strong Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Radford first performed at OPSU in November of 2002, and is again offering the public a rare opportunity to hear the exciting style of music performed by one of the best guitarists in the country.
The gifted artist takes his audience beyond the usual guitar concert. Radford complements his masterful technique with illuminating narration and draws his audience into the world of sound and feeling he creates with the fiery Gypsy dance rhythms of Flamenco. The style incorporates the creativity of jazz, the fun of Bluegrass, and the beauty of classical music, and the performance is one the whole family will enjoy. Following the performance, the artist will greet those in attendance and some of his recorded music will be available for sale at the concert.
This presentation is supported by the Mid-America Arts Alliance with generous underwriting by the National Endowment for the Arts, Oklahoma Arts Council, as well as foundations, corporations, and individuals throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Ticket prices for the public are $8 for adults and $4 for senior citizens and students 12 and under. For more information, telephone Russell Guthrie at 580-349-1478 or contact him via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
