Goodwell, Okla. - The Student Union Building on the campus of Oklahoma Panhandle State University will undergo renovations on the inside and outside. Beginning this spring, work will begin on the roof and exterior of the building as well as landscape work.
The building houses the OPSU Bookstore, the cafeteria, Aggie Grille, and the ballroom as well as university offices such as student events, student senate, the student nurse, and Hispanic student services. The roof over the entire structure will be replaced, but the most noticeable improvement will be on the outside of the building.
Exterior restoration will include cleaning, sealing and waterproofing all of the masonry, which means the light-colored capstone will be restored to its original light color. In addition, the landscape will be modified to provide proper drainage and enhancement of the exterior of the building.
All of the work will be completed by the time students return to campus next August. The work reflects OPSU’s continuing commitment to its infrastructure and providing students with a comfortable learning environment.
