As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, Oklahoma Panhandle
State University is sponsoring a soccer tournament this
Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9 from 10:00 a.m. -
6:00 p.m. Teams will play on the football field and will
also use the practice field.
The double-elimination tournament
will feature two junior teams from Guymon, comprised
of players 16 years old and younger, who will compete
against the women’s teams.
The women’s teams include an OPSU student team and
a team of Guymon High School students.
The soccer league in Guymon will
use the games they play for their semifinals match. Those
teams include Honduras, Real Guatemala, Libertad and
El Tri. Two more teams from that league will also compete
in the men’s division
- Robles and Jaspers. The OPSU international club team
is also playing.
Players will trade off announcing the games, and concessions
will be available. Help us celebrate and cheer for your
favorite team!
