Graduate Wins Competition

Goodwell -- McKenzie Talcott,
a 2005 graduate of Oklahoma Panhandle State University,
recently won the “Miss
Oklahoma State Royalty 2006” title in Dallas, Texas.
A part of Cinderella Productions, Talcott qualified to
enter the International Grand Finals competition that will
be held in Las Vegas on July 21.
Since graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in
Biological Sciences, Talcott has worked as the administrative
assistant for Sodexho Food Services on the OPSU campus.
She also operates her own business, Miss Kenzie’s
Tumble and Cheer Gym in Guymon, Okla. and Rolla and Hugoton,
Kan. In addition, she volunteers her time as assistant
OPSU Cheer Coach.
This ambitious young woman also plans
to re-establish and direct a Miss OPSU Pageant affiliated
with the Miss America pageant system. “I hope to be able to bring
a scholarship pageant to campus that will give OPSU students
the same opportunities I have enjoyed through my pageant
experience,” said Talcott.
