Whitson to Meet with
Area Agriculture Representatives

Dr. Robert Whitson, Vice President for Agriculture at Oklahoma
State University, will visit Texas County September 7-9. During
his three days in the area, he will meet with a variety of
groups to share his vision for agriculture in the High Plains.
Sponsored by the Texas County Ag Supporters Committee chaired
by Roy Ehly, the visit provides Whitson an opportunity to learn
about agricultural concerns in the area.
Dr. Whitson will spend time at OPSU, meeting with administrators
and faculty, lecturing animal science students, and meeting
with Goodwell agricultural and community leaders. The following
two days will be spent meeting with various groups including
the Guymon Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwanis Club, Guymon High
School students, Guymon Toastmasters, and the Guymon Rotary
Club.
Jess Nelson will moderate a round table discussion
with Texas County agriculture leaders, when representatives
from local beef, wheat, pork, sunflower, cotton, and grape
industries will meet with him. The trip wraps up with a media
conference at the Western Townsman Inn Reunion Room at 1:00
p.m. All interested media are welcome to attend.
