Goodwell, Okla. - The final funds have been committed to complete the $500,000 Noble Foundation Challenge Grant for the new Science and Agriculture building on the OPSU campus. The $1 million raised will provide specialized equipment for the new building.

Plenty of opportunity remains for businesses and individuals to contribute to the new academic building. With the grand opening of the building less than one year away, many essentials are still needed including furnishings, landscaping and parking lot paving, and general equipment. In addition, a greenhouse for agronomy teaching and research remains a high priority.
Naming rights for several areas are still available. Patrons can choose to support the agricultural wing, science wing, Chemistry/Feed Analysis Lab, and a number of other rooms within the facility. Those who contribute $1,000 or more will be recognized on a donor wall in the lobby, and those who support one of the rooms listed in the fund raising material actually name the room itself.

OPSU has also recently announced it will seek funds to endow two chairs, one for science and one for agriculture. The strength of a university lies partly in its ability to recruit and retain quality faculty. By raising $250,000 in private funds for each chair, OPSU qualifies to be added to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education’s list for matching funds.
Endowed chairs offer several benefits. They allow the University to secure and sustain top faculty by using financial incentive as well as offering the prestige and recognition accorded to professors appointed to the chairs. Donors gain the satisfaction of knowing that their names will be linked to a commitment to academic excellence through the achievements of the occupants of a chair.

Discover how you can participate in the future of OPSU with a generous gift or a memorial contribution to help further OPSU’s educational and community service commitments.
