OPSU Basketball Gearing Up for Next Winter
by Aggie Sports on 4/20/06
Goodwell, Okla.- Last season’s
Oklahoma Panhandle State men’s basketball team had an
exciting finish, placing third in the Heartland Conference,
and the team currently boasts a nine-game home court winning
streak.
Curt Connor will begin his third year as head coach in the
fall and has been working toward another successful season
through recruiting.
Chuck Salisbury, a solid 6’2 player
from Beaver has committed to be an Aggie beginning next season.
Salisbury is quite impressed with Connor’s
leadership and likes what he sees at the school on the academic
side of things. Salisbury is also excited about playing his
college basketball at the NCAA Division II level and likes
the idea of being close to home so that family and friends
can watch him play.
Salisbury is one of several fine prospects
who will be joining the OPSU men’s team. It will be
seven months before they swing into action, and Connor is
prepared to do what it takes to have another successful year.
