OPSU Signs Another Top Basketball Recruit
-by Aggie Sports 06/02/06
Goodwell, Okla.- Oklahoma Panhandle State basketball coach
Curt Connor continues to bring in new talent to join the Aggie
basketball program. The latest commitment for the 2006-2007
season comes from Zac Gipson of Waurika, Oklahoma.
The six foot Gipson averaged 18 points, 5.1 assists, 3.7 steals
and 6.2 rebounds a game last season at Waurika High School.
He was Player of the Year in the Southern 8 Conference, an
All-Region pick, and Honorable Mention All-State.
Gipson is also a fine student with his eye on the OPSU School
of Business and law school after that.
His high school coach, Jeremy Hogan,
felt Gipson could play at the NCAA level, and he believes
Panhandle State made a good investment. “I know I was extremely impressed with Coach
Connor and what he’s done at Panhandle. They’ve
been third in the (Heartland) conference the last two years,
and he’s opened some eyes in the coaching community,” Hogan
said.
Hogan added, “Zac’s made a good choice — and
so has Panhandle State.”
