by Scott Puryear of Aggie Sports on 01-07-06
Goodwell, OK - The Oklahoma Panhandle State men’s basketball
team was in Montana on Friday night with the unenviable task
of playing Montana State University-Billings, a team averaging
103.8 points per game. The Aggies gave their opponents everything
they wanted and more, but MSU-B withstood a solid OPSU second
half rally and defeated the Aggies 88-77.
Trailing 51-37 at the intermission, the Aggies fought back
in the second half and got within five points three different
times.
The Aggies played hard all night against a very good Heartland
Conference opponent. MSU-B had five players score in double
figures, including 20 each by Moritz Wohlers and Cameron Munoz.
Aggies were led by 15 points and 15 rebounds from Aaron Harrison,
who was 6-9 from the field and 3-5 from the free throw line.
Eddie Moss added 12 points and Nick Malinowski scored ten.
It was a gusty performance for the Aggies, who out rebounded
their opponents 51-34.
