Aggies
Fall to Texas A&M International, 76-66
- by Scott Puryear of Aggie Sports on 2/9/07
Goodwell,
Okla.
- The Oklahoma Panhandle State men’s basketball team
was in Laredo on Thursday for a tough game with Texas A&M
International. Although the game started out slowly, it
developed into a hot one, but it was not quite enough to
give the Aggies the win as TA&MI came out on top, 76-66.
The
Aggies trailed at the halftime break, 34-24, but had no
intention of going away quietly in the second half, and
they fought hard until the final buzzer.
OPSU’s
LaChawn Anderson has been the hottest scorer in the Heartland
Conference over the last few weeks and the 6’4 junior
drilled in 27 points to lead all scorers. Sophomore forward
Luke Ogden posted a personal career high of 22 points.
Anderson
also led both teams in rebounds with eight and freshman
guard Chuck Salisbury had a game high ten assists and added
a pair of steals. Junior forward Will Stephenson scored
nine and pulled down six rebounds.
The
Aggies (6-17) will continue their road swing on Saturday
night in Austin with a Heartland Conference contest against
league leading St. Edward’s (17-4). Game time is set
for 8:00 p.m.
