Goodwell, Okla. - The Oklahoma Panhandle State men’s basketball team was in Jefferson City, Missouri on Saturday for a Heartland Conference match-up with Lincoln University. It was a tough game from the outset and Lincoln pulled away in the final minutes for their 87-72 victory.
Despite 16 points from OPSU’s LaChawn Anderson, Lincoln had a 39-32 halftime advantage. The Aggies fought back in the second half and the score was tied at 51-51, but Lincoln closed the game out with some hot shooting.
With his 35 point performance on the night, the 6’4 Anderson strengthened his hold on the Heartland Conference scoring lead. The Chicago native earned a “double-double” on Saturday with his point total and 12 rebounds, and he also came up with four steals.
Will Stephenson added 14 points for the Aggies, pulled down seven rebounds, and blocked a pair of Lincoln shots. Luke Ogden scored nine and hit the boards for eight rebounds.
With the loss, the OPSU season record stands at 7-18 and 3-7 in the conference.
