Goodwell, OK – The Oklahoma Panhandle State men’s basketball team traveled across the Kansas border and stopped in Wichita to play in front of over 10,000 people on Friday night. The Aggies played with heart, and their coach was not disappointed as they fell to the Shockers of Wichita State, 83-55.

Wichita State, an excellent NCAA Division I team, upped their record to 3-0 while the Aggies dropped to 0-2.

The Aggies played very well at times, and though the Shockers had a formidable height advantage, the stats show they could only block one OPSU shot.

Juan Carson led the Aggies with 16 points and nine rebounds, while teammates William Preston and Eddie Moss added 13 and 11 respectively. Preston also had five rebounds and was 3-5 from the three point arc.

After the game, OPSU head coach Curt Connor said he saw some good things and that he was proud of the courage his team displayed.

The Aggies will be back on their home court on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. to face Midwestern State, a good team from the Lone Star Conference.
