Goodwell, OK – Still seeking their first win of the
young season, the Oklahoma Panhandle State men’s basketball
team traveled to Bolivar, Missouri for a Tuesday night match-up
with undefeated Southwest Baptist University. SBU won 92-74.
For the first ten minutes of the game, it was as even as possible,
with the score tied at 18-18. SBU staged a good run as the
opening period elapsed and held a 42-32 advantage at halftime.
After the break, the Aggies staged a fast paced rally and
closed the gap to five (47-43), but SBU came right back with
ten consecutive points to go ahead 57-43 with just over 13
minutes left to play.
The Aggies narrowed the SBU lead to 11 points (66-55) on a
Nick Malinowski three pointer, but SBU continued to push ahead
and the game ended with an SBU win, 92-74.
William Preston led the Aggies with 20
points and forward Nick Malinowski continued to average a “Double-Double” for
the season, this time collecting 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Eddie Moss notched 14 points for the Aggies and Juan Carson
added 11.
The Aggies (0-6) will get a well deserved week off before
the same Southwest Baptist team visits Goodwell on December
6th.
