by Scott Puryear of Aggie Sports on 12/7/05
Goodwell, OK-
Undefeated Southwest Baptist University visited Oklahoma
Panhandle State on Tuesday evening and handed the Aggies
a 92-64 loss in men’s
college basketball action. SBU led from wire to wire and
held a 44-31 lead at the half.
Southwest Baptist, a very good
team with excellent shooters and superior size, came into
the game with an 8-0 record, and this year’s squad
may be the best ever produced at the Missouri school.
The Aggies played with heart against a bigger team (which
included 7’2" Frans Steyn), and the loss
dropped their season record to 0-7.
OPSU’s William Preston led all scorers with
23 points, and teammate Juan Carson added 16. Nick
Malinowski scored seven points and pulled down a game
high eight rebounds.
The Aggies fell to 0-7 on the season and will be in Wichita
Falls, Texas for a Thursday night contest with Midwestern
State.
