Stephenson fights under the basket- Jeff Flanagan photo **For Immediate Release** OPSU’s Stephenson Named Heartland Player of the Week - by Scott Puryear of OPSU Sports on 01/17/2007 Goodwell, Okla. - Oklahoma Panhandle State’s Will Stephenson, a junior forward from Chicago, has been named a Heartland Conference Player of the Week for the week ending January 13. In OPSU’s two big wins over MSU-Billings, Stephenson averaged 19 points (including a season high 21), 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks. For the week, the Aggies went 2-1 and Stephenson had per game averages of 15.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 1.0 assists, and .66 steals against a grand total of only five turnovers. This season, the 6’6 “jumping jack” has led the Aggies in scoring five times and in rebounding ten times. He currently ranks ninth in the conference in scoring and second in rebounding. ###
