Lady Aggies Fall to MSU-Billings

Goodwell, Okla. - The Oklahoma Panhandle State women’s basketball team opened Heartland Conference play on Saturday evening on the road against Montana State-Billings. The Yellowjackets shot nearly 60% from the field in the first half to open a 51-22 lead over the Lady Aggies at the intermission. The game ended with the Yellowjackets picking up a 84-60 victory.
Alira Carpenter of MSU-B led all scorers with 26 points as her team raised their season record to 8-3.
Alisha Sladek was the leading scorer for OPSU with 18 points, including 4-6 from beyond the three point line, and teammate Sedra Watkins added 11 points. Sladek also led the Lady Aggies in rebounding with eight, Nina Kuleff pulled down six, and Val Boothe and Yadira Ortega each had five.
The Lady Aggies, now 2-10 on the season, will be in San Antonio this coming weekend for two more Heartland Conference games. On Thursday, they’ll go against St. Mary’s with a 5:30 p.m. start and on Saturday night at 6:00, they will play the University of the Incarnate Word.
